Tibia Quest Guide for Beginners - Essential Quests by Level

Tibia Quest Guide for Beginners: Essential Quests by Level

Quests are one of the most rewarding parts of Tibia. Unlike many modern MMORPGs where quests are tracked with markers and arrows, Tibia quests require exploration, problem-solving, and sometimes teamwork. Some reward powerful equipment, others unlock new areas or NPCs, and a few are simply fun adventures.

This guide covers the most important quests organized by level, so you know what to tackle and when. Each entry includes the level requirement, reward, and a brief hint to get you started without spoiling the entire experience.

Before You Start: How Quests Work in Tibia

Tibia doesn’t have a quest log or tracker. You discover quests by talking to NPCs, reading books, and exploring. Here are a few things to know:

  • Most quests can only be completed once per character
  • Some quests have level or vocation requirements
  • Many quests require specific items — bring rope, shovel, and a pick with you
  • Death during a quest means losing XP and possibly equipment — prepare appropriately

Always bring basic adventuring supplies: rope, shovel, torches (or a light spell if you know utevo lux), health potions, and food.

Rookgaard Quests (Levels 1-8)

Rookgaard is the beginner island, and while the quests here are simple, they teach you how questing works in Tibia.

The Doublet Quest

  • Level: 1+
  • Reward: Leather doublet (basic armor)
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Hint: Explore the cave northeast of the Rookgaard temple. Look for a chest past the trolls.

This is likely your first quest. The leather doublet is a small upgrade, but the real value is learning how to find and open quest chests.

The Katana Quest

  • Level: 2+
  • Reward: Katana (a decent weapon)
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Hint: Head to the wolf cave east of town. The chest is deeper inside, past the bears.

The katana is a solid weapon for Rookgaard. It makes killing minotaurs much easier.

The Minotaur Hell Quest

  • Level: 5+
  • Reward: Brass armor
  • Difficulty: Moderate
  • Hint: Deep inside the Rookgaard minotaur cave, there’s a quest room. You’ll need to fight through several minotaurs to reach it. Bring health potions.

The brass armor is the best armor you can get on Rookgaard. This quest is worth completing before leaving for the mainland.

Rookgaard Tips

  • Complete all Rookgaard quests before leaving — you can never return
  • The experience from fighting your way to quest chests helps with leveling
  • Talk to every NPC in town; some give helpful hints about quest locations

Early Mainland Quests (Levels 8-20)

After leaving Rookgaard and choosing your vocation, the mainland opens up. These quests give meaningful rewards that will last you several levels.

The Orc Fortress Quest

  • Level: 8+ (recommended 15+)
  • Reward: Knight armor (or other valuable equipment)
  • Difficulty: Moderate to Hard
  • Hint: The Orc Fortress is north of Thais. Fight your way through orcs to reach the inner chambers. The quest room is behind a door that requires teamwork or careful monster management to reach.

The knight armor is a significant upgrade at this level. This quest is much easier with a small group.

The Panpipe Quest

  • Level: 8+
  • Reward: Panpipes (needed for other quests)
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Hint: Talk to the NPCs on the path south of Ab’Dendriel. The quest involves finding a set of pipes in a small cave nearby.

The panpipes themselves aren’t powerful, but they’re required for other quests later. Worth grabbing early.

The Explorer’s Bag Quest (Thais)

  • Level: 8+
  • Reward: Backpack with useful starter items
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Hint: Explore the sewer system beneath Thais. There are multiple quest chests hidden in different branches of the sewers.

A great first mainland quest. The sewers are relatively safe and teach you about Tibia’s underground exploration.

The Wedding Ring Quest

  • Level: 10+
  • Reward: Wedding ring
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Hint: Located in a small quest area near Thais. Follow the coast south and explore caves you find along the way.

The wedding ring is a fun cosmetic item. The quest is short and easy, making it a nice break between hunts.

The Scale Armor Quest

  • Level: 12+
  • Reward: Scale armor
  • Difficulty: Moderate
  • Hint: Found in the troll caves near Thais. You need to navigate through several rooms of trolls and find the hidden chest.

A useful armor upgrade for this level range. The trolls aren’t dangerous, but there are many of them.

Mid-Level Quests (Levels 20-40)

This is where quests start offering truly impactful rewards. Some of these quest lines are multi-step adventures that take real effort.

The Djinn Quest Line

  • Level: 20+ (recommended 30+)
  • Reward: Access to premium NPC merchants (Green Djinn or Blue Djinn)
  • Difficulty: Hard (multi-part)
  • Hint: Start by talking to NPCs in the Ankrahmun area. You’ll need to choose a side — Marid (Blue Djinn) or Efreet (Green Djinn). Each faction has its own quest chain involving travel, combat, and item collection.

This is one of the most important quests in Tibia. Completing it gives you access to Djinn NPCs who buy equipment at much better prices than regular shops. If you’re following our money making guide, this quest is essential for maximizing profit from loot sales.

Choose wisely: You can only pick one faction per character. Green Djinn (Efreet) and Blue Djinn (Marid) buy different items.

The Crusader Helmet Quest

  • Level: 25+ (recommended 35+)
  • Reward: Crusader helmet (excellent headgear)
  • Difficulty: Hard
  • Hint: Located in the Plains of Havoc, south of Venore. Navigate through dangerous territory with giant spiders, beholders, and demons. The quest room is deep inside, and you’ll likely need a team.

The crusader helmet is one of the best helmets available at this level range. The Plains of Havoc is dangerous, though, so don’t attempt this solo at the minimum level.

The Sam’s Old Backpack Quest

  • Level: 20+
  • Reward: Experience and NPC favor
  • Difficulty: Moderate
  • Hint: Talk to Sam, the weapon shopkeeper in Thais. He mentions losing a backpack. Explore the areas he describes and return his belongings.

A fun quest that takes you through some interesting areas and rewards you with useful items.

The Fire Axe Quest

  • Level: 25+
  • Reward: Fire axe
  • Difficulty: Moderate
  • Hint: Located in the Dwarf Mines near Kazordoon. You need to navigate through dwarves and find the hidden chamber. Bring a rope and shovel.

The fire axe is a strong weapon for axe-wielding Knights at this level. The quest also familiarizes you with the Kazordoon underground, which is useful later.

The Black Knight Quest

  • Level: 30+ (recommended 40+)
  • Reward: Crown armor
  • Difficulty: Hard
  • Hint: The Black Knight’s villa is in the Ghostlands, north of Thais. You’ll need to fight through undead creatures and eventually face the Black Knight himself. Bring plenty of potions.

The crown armor is a serious upgrade. The Black Knight hits hard, so being above the minimum level is strongly recommended. This quest is much safer with a partner.

Upper Mid-Level Quests (Levels 40-70)

At this point you’re tackling some of Tibia’s most famous quests. The rewards are excellent, and the challenges are memorable.

The Demon Helmet Quest

  • Level: 40+ (recommended 60+)
  • Difficulty: Very Hard
  • Reward: Demon helmet
  • Hint: Deep in the Plains of Havoc. This quest requires fighting through multiple floors of powerful creatures. You absolutely need a team for this one. Coordinate with your guild or friends.

The demon helmet is one of the best helmets in the game. This quest is a rite of passage for many Tibia players. Don’t attempt it underprepared — the monsters on the way are unforgiving.

The Annihilator Quest

  • Level: 100+
  • Reward: Choice of magic plate armor, stonecutter axe, or other top-tier equipment
  • Difficulty: Extreme
  • Hint: Requires exactly four players. Located deep underground near the Banshee quest area. You’ll face a room full of Demons — all at once. Every team member needs to be well-equipped and coordinated. One mistake can mean a full team wipe.

The Annihilator is legendary. It’s one of Tibia’s most famous quests and a real test of teamwork. The magic plate armor reward is among the best armor in the game.

The Dwarf Armor Quest

  • Level: 40+
  • Reward: Dwarf armor (excellent armor for its level)
  • Difficulty: Hard
  • Hint: Found in the deeper parts of the Kazordoon mines. You’ll encounter dwarf guards and fire elementals on the way. Bring fire protection.

Good armor upgrade at this level, and the quest teaches you to deal with elemental damage — a skill you’ll need for harder content.

The Desert Dungeon Quest (Scarab Quest)

  • Level: 40+
  • Reward: Scarab amulet and other treasures
  • Difficulty: Moderate
  • Hint: Located in the desert north of Ankrahmun. Navigate through scarab-filled tunnels to reach the treasure room. The scarabs aren’t individually tough but come in large numbers.

A good quest to practice fighting groups of monsters. The scarab amulet provides earth protection, which is useful in specific hunts.

High-Level Quests (Level 70+)

These quests are endgame content. They require serious preparation, good equipment, and usually a coordinated team.

The Inquisition Quest

  • Level: 80+ (recommended 100+)
  • Reward: Access to powerful hunting grounds and blessings
  • Difficulty: Very Hard (multi-part)
  • Hint: Start in Thais by talking to Henricus. This is a long quest chain that takes you through multiple boss fights and dangerous areas. Each part has its own challenges.

The Inquisition quest unlocks some of the best hunting areas in the game. The access alone makes it one of the most important quests for high-level characters.

The Pits of Inferno Quest

  • Level: 80+ (recommended 100+)
  • Reward: Choice of extremely rare equipment
  • Difficulty: Extreme
  • Hint: A massive quest that takes you through themed dungeon floors, each with unique mechanics and bosses. Requires a dedicated team and several hours to complete in one run.

One of Tibia’s largest and most ambitious quests. The rewards are outstanding, but the difficulty matches. Plan this one in advance with your team.

The Behemoth Quest

  • Level: 70+
  • Reward: Golden armor
  • Difficulty: Hard
  • Hint: Located in the behemoth area near Edron. Fight through behemoths to reach the quest room. Knights are strongly favored here due to the heavy physical damage.

The golden armor is a top-tier armor piece. This quest is straightforward but demands raw combat power.

Quest Tips for New Players

Preparation Checklist

Before any quest, pack these essentials:

  • Rope — many quest areas require rope to climb holes
  • Shovel — some entrances are hidden under loose ground
  • Torches or light spell — underground areas are dark
  • Health and mana potions — bring more than you think you need
  • Food — mana regeneration requires being well-fed

Safety Tips

  • Never quest alone on mobile if you’re unsure of the difficulty. Playing on a touchscreen makes fast reactions harder, so having a teammate as backup is valuable.
  • Set your death penalty awareness high — losing XP and items on death is painful. If a quest feels too dangerous, come back later at a higher level.
  • Scout before committing — walk into the first room of a quest area and gauge the difficulty before going deeper.

General Quest Advice

  • Talk to every NPC — many quests are only discovered through NPC dialogue
  • Read books and signs — in-game books contain quest hints and lore
  • Explore systematically — check every hole, every ladder, every suspicious wall
  • Take notes — Tibia doesn’t track quests for you, so keep your own notes on what you’ve found and where

Quests and Your Vocation

Your vocation affects how you approach quests:

  • Knights can brute-force through combat-heavy quests but may struggle with areas requiring ranged damage
  • Paladins have the easiest time with most solo quests thanks to ranged attacks and decent health
  • Sorcerers clear rooms fast with area spells but need to be careful with their low HP
  • Druids are the best quest partners thanks to healing, but solo questing requires patience

Start Questing

The best way to learn Tibia’s quest system is to start doing quests. Begin with the easier ones near your level and work your way up. Each completed quest teaches you something about how Tibia works — exploration, combat, teamwork, and preparation.

Don’t be afraid to attempt a quest and fail. Knowing the layout for next time is half the battle. And if you’re looking for the best hunting spots to level up between quests, check out the hunting guide for spawn recommendations at every level.

Good luck, adventurer.
