01Can you play the official Tibia in a browser?
No. CipSoft's Tibia is played through a downloadable client for Windows, macOS and Linux. CipSoft once offered a browser client built on Adobe Flash, but it no longer works: browsers switched Flash off for good at the end of 2020, and no official replacement followed. There is also no official Tibia app for Android or iPhone (TibiaME is a different game).
So every way to play Tibia in a browser today is an Open Tibia world: a fan-made server with its own browser client. They are free, they are not run by CipSoft, and your official Tibia account does not work on them. The good news is that the best of them are built for the browser from the ground up, not squeezed into it.

08What does not count as browser Tibia
- The old Flash client: it stopped working when Flash was switched off in 2020.
- TibiaME: an official CipSoft game, but a separate one with its own world. Tibia vs TibiaME, explained.
- OT server APKs: Android-only downloads, which is the opposite of no-download. Only install one from a server you know.
- Remote play and cloud PCs: streaming the desktop client works in a pinch, but you still need the client on a machine somewhere, and the interface is tiny on a phone.
